About the performers: 

Audrey Jellett:

Audrey Jellett is an eighteen-year-old cellist from Kerrville, Texas. Audrey began her musical studies with the Hill Country Youth Orchestra program and later the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio under director Troy Peters. Audrey has performed with the World Youth Symphony and Texas All-State Philharmonic Orchestras. An avid chamber musician, Audrey was selected as a young artist performer for Cactus Pear Music Festival and is an early member of Opus Four String Quartet which has performed throughout the Texas Hill Country for private and city events, pre-concert lectures for the San Antonio Symphony, and school outreach concerts. Audrey has attended two summers at Interlochen Arts Camp, as well as l’Académie Orford Musique in Quebec and the Meadowmount School of Music in New York. While at Meadowmount, Audrey was given the opportunity to perform for renowned cellist Lynn Harrell. In the spring of 2019, Audrey performed as principal cellist with the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra on NPR’s “From the Top.” She studied with Dr. Patrick Owen at Interlochen, where she graduated in May with academic honors and a Fine Arts award. Audrey was also selected as a cellist for the National Youth Orchestra’s 2020 season. She has had the privilege of studying with Lynda Verner, Annette DiGiosia, Jonah Kim, David Carter, Brian Manker, and Julia Lichten, with whom she will continue her studies at Manhattan School of Music in the fall

 

Rebecca Villalta:

Violinist Rebecca Villalta began playing at the age of 8 in San José, Costa Rica. She since has attended a number of music programs and festivals. She got accepted to the pre-college program at the School of Music of the University of Costa Rica and studied with M.M Erasmo Solerti from ages 10 to 16. In 2014, Rebecca won 1st place at the University if Costa Rica Music competition and performed at the winner's recital. She attended Interlochen Arts Academy for her junior and senior years of high school studying with Mr. Paul Sonner, and recently graduated with a Fine Arts Award. She has attended Curtis Summerfest, Brevard Music Center, Sewanee Summer Music Festival, and several others in and out of the country. Rebecca has been the concertmaster of the Costa Rican Youth Symphony Orchestra and a soloist with the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra. Starting in the fall of 2020, Rebecca will begin at the Eastman School of Music and will study with professor Reneé Jolles to pursue her Bachelor of Music degree.
